Feeling cramped? Well, no more! Students now know, DB is adding another building. Dr. Hampton, the school principal, gave us a bit of an insight of the new building.

The groundbreaking was on Thursday, December 7th, and it was for the new science and technology addition that will be going on to the front of the campus. The new building will go on the front side of the campus as well.

“I am not sure of the actual length and width offhand, but the in total it will comprise roughly 75,000 square feet of learning space,” states Hampton. The reason for the new building is the need for updated and more relevant science and tech space, as well as cramped space, and “projected enrollment in student population.”

For all the students who state that North is coming to DB, Dr. Hampton has said otherwise. “North is NOT coming to DB. North will be going to the new county high school located near the airport.”

Starting after break, life at D-B will change for staff and students alike with the construction, but there’s no need to fret! This addition is going to make D-B grown the learning opportunites for all students. The completion date is set for spring 2019, so underclassmen and incoming students have an amazing future to look forward to!
