A new horror movie came out in theatres on September 8th, 2017. This movie is called “It” and has gotten many students’ attention since it came out. “It” is a horror, drama, adventure movie and is rated R.

This movie is about a monster who comes for children every 27 years, so when a child in Derry, Maine is taken, a group of misfits sets out to look for him. They encounter a shapeshifting monster, named Pennywise, many times throughout the way, a clown who has the ability to change into whatever the child is afraid of. “It” is full of scares and creepy moments that the children encounter.

The monster is very creepy, and could absolutely cause people nightmares. The way that Pennywise creeps around, does jump scares, and even speaks gives viewers chills.

Though it is definitely a horror movie, “It” is also full of jokes and funny scenes that greatly add to the plotline. This movie is even a sad, romantic film. “It” gets it’s audience screaming, laughing, and crying.

All of the roles in “It” were cast amazingly, and everyone played their parts perfectly. The actors left you thinking about their characters even after the movie ended.

This movie is not only a horror movie, but a window into the lives of students who feel like outcasts. It teaches children how to be brave, stick together, and overcome their fears. Without each other the monster would have gotten them all, but together they were unstoppable.

“It” is a well written, well portrayed, movie that has almost every genre of movie combined. This movie has it all, and is truly a great film. I highly recommend “It” to anyone who is looking for a good scare, and a great night.
